The motives for opening the center appeared in 2005 and 2006. when there was no oil mill in the county that would meet the requirements of olive growers for the production of oil of the highest extra virgin quality, by a modern mechanical cold process.

It is in the heart of the magnificent plains of the Fez region, renowned for its ancestral olive culture, that the Noor Fès estate extends. A source of pure and limpid mineral water streams along our orchard, enjoying an exceptional micro climate.

Our 4,900-acre farm is situated along the lower reaches of the Breede River between Malgas and Cape Infanta and borders on the De Hoop Nature Reserve. The area has a typical Mediterranean climate that combined with the soil type is perfectly suited to cultivation and growing of healthy olive trees. Nine different cultivars of imported olive trees covers 815 acres.

The reference brand of the olive oil packaged and marketed by Fio Dourado is the Quinta do Juncal Olive Oil, available in three different batches due to their characteristics.

Karima, the olive grower, is proud of her high-end olive oil, produced from olives from her family’s estate, and produced by cold pressing in her own oil mill in the center of the estate. In these non-industrial conditions, the olives harvested by hand are crushed a few hours later, without having been transported or stored.
