We grow the olive tree – with the same passion and the same interest as our ancestors for five generations. With absolute respect for the gifts of nature. Incorporating innovation, research and the latest crop developments in all stages of olive production. From cultivation and harvesting, to packaging and promotion in the Greek and international market, all the procedures that follow are harmonized with the strictest quality standards of organic farming.

We are Elli & Myron from Agia Varvara, Iraklion – Crete. Our area is the centre of island and has a long tradition in the production of the extra virgin olive oil. When you cultivate olive trees in Crete, you do not have to try too much to achieve excellent olive oil quality!

This extra virgin olive oil was worked on with devotion, as its name states in Greek. The result is an authentic taste with considerable fruitiness.

At Sparta Gourmet, we honor our Spartan roots and the beauty of Greece’s lands. Using a combination of tradition and technology, we are proud to produce one of the finest olive oils in the country. Our rich olives render an authentic, traditional extra virgin olive oil. Containing several beneficial antioxidants and monosaturated fats, extra virgin olive oil is a key ingredient in the Mediterranean diet, recommended for healthy daily consumption and embodying the wealth of nature with every taste.

Harvested while Koroneiki variety olives are still ripe, this olive oil proudly represents one of the birthplaces of olive oil in Greece.

Vedema* is a fine example of the Greek extra virgin olive oils: «born» in the world-famous Kritsa olive groves in Lasithi, Crete in Greece, it is tasty and fruity, full of aromas and has a very low acidity (≤0.4%). The olive trees in Kritsa are traditionally cultivated since ancient times and harvested from November to early January, every year. Vedema is produced from hand-picked «Koroneiki» olive fruits, pressed whithin two days from harvesting.

Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced by olives cultivated at mountainous Sparta on the sunny mountain slopes. The most natural olive oil category with great aromas and taste. It has a strong fruity taste and aroma of freshly cut olive fruit.

We are a family company with years of experience in oil production with undivided enthusiasm about it. Our location is placed in the village of Zakros, located on the east coast of Crete. The oil roads in our parts, etched from the Minoans, passed in Greece reaching the shores of the Mediterranean, conveying the value and contribution of olive. Zakros is a village known and recognized for its wonderful olive oil produced since ancient times has highlighted one of the most important commercial and cultural centers of the Minoan civilization.
