Extra virgin olive oil Morgan comes from Slovenian Istria. It is produced with love, dedication, knowledge and in accordance with organic production (BIO) methods and principles to respect our living environment and to take care of our health. The undamaged fruits are pressed in the most modern oil plant on the same day as they are harvested at a temperature lower than 27 degrees Celsius and solely by mechanical means under strict rules for pressing olives from organic production. After pressing, the olive oil is filtered to remove the last residues of solid particles and water. Until being bottled, olive oil is stored under controlled conditions. In that way we achieve the high quality and durability of our home-made olive oil. We have chosen to walk a demanding path, but we stand firm in our decision that only the best is good enough. This has been proven to us on numerous domestic and international olive-growing evaluations. Organic farm Morgan also participated for several years in London International Olive Oil Competition (LIOOC) with their organic olive oil and had always achieved gold awards.

Last year the Morgan family and the Slovenian Chef Filip Matjaz came up with an idea to make “Rose Olive Oil”. Rose Olive Oil incorporates a perfect combination between organic olives from Morgan estate and the fragrant roses from the city of Portorož. The intense aroma of roses and its gentle sweet and fresh taste with a light spiciness are a great match to olive oil, accentuating its apple note. It is used to flavour cold seafood dishes (such as shrimps), carpaccio, salads, chocolate, ice cream and modern desserts as well as other aromatic dishes.

Chef’s Filip idea was to make a product that connects the importance of olive oil in Istria and Istrian cuisine, with his famous hometown Portorož (historically the port of roses). In this way, through Rose Olive Oil, people could better connect with the local traditions and would always remember Istria and city of roses – Portorož. You may also taste the Rose Olive Oil at Chef Filip Matjaz experience restaurant COB in Portoroz, where he created a dessert called Degustation of Olive Oil. It features three sweet olives, each with a different flavour and covered with a different olive oil from Morgan estate. The Rose Olive Oil is paired with cream cheese shaped in an olive and offers a unique experience of the olive oil tradition in Istria. The Degustation of Olive Oil Dessert was also awarded the title of the most original Slovenian dessert in 2019.
